How the trust is governed

Good governance keeps a trust honest, ambitious and well-run. Ours follows the standard academy-trust model — a clear line of accountability from members, through the board of trustees, to the people leading our schools — with a published scheme of delegation setting out who decides what.

Four tiers, one line of accountability

1

Members

The guardians of the trust. Members appoint trustees and hold the board to account for the trust's constitution and charitable objects.

2

Board of Trustees

Legally accountable for the trust — its education standards, finances and statutory duties. The board sets strategy and delegates operational leadership to the CEO.

3

Committees

Two standing committees do detailed scrutiny on the board's behalf: Audit & Risk, and Finance & Resources.

4

Local Governing Bodies

Each school has its own LGB — local people who know the community and hold their school to account on the ground.

Local Governing Bodies sit at each of our schools: Alresford High School, Alresford Primary School, Alresford Special School.
